The Detective Comics story arc "Night People," follows the events of a single night in Gotham, including a mugging, multiple homicides-for-hire, drug trafficking, and the creation and destruction of the "Corrosive Man." As the sun rises and Batman heads back to the cave, he uses this Batmobile.

Drawn by Norm Breyfogle, it serves as a prototype for the later "spaceship" inspired designs, with enclosed wheels, a flat wedge-shape, and a full-width cockpit canopy. It also has two unusual features for a Breyfogle car: a rear spoiler and sideview mirrors.
